It’s no secret breakfast is my favorite meal of the day.
However, when hosting company, sometimes it’s a challenge to have something ready early-morning for a large gang! Since my morning is always super BUSY – I like to plan ahead for an easy breakfast to enjoy. Here’s some of my favorite hassle-free ideas.
Bagels + Pastries Spread
A bagel and muffin spread is perfect for a busy morning, especially if you have lots of guests coming and going. I’d recommend store bought bagels unless you can get to pick up fresh ones the morning of (since bakery bagels will go stale if purchased a day ahead). Get at least one bagel per person, and be sure to pre-slice. Grab a few fun cream cheese spreads – or whip up your own (try 8oz of cream cheese + 2 tbsp honey + 2 tbsp brown sugar!). Mini muffins, fresh fruit, coffee, and juices are perfect additions as well.
Mexican Breakfast Casserole
Think of everything in a great homemade breakfast baked together to perfection. Eggs, peppers, ground beef, onions, and hash browns come together in this recipe from The Whole Cook. I love this Mexican spin on an old classic, and it’s even Whole 30 + Paleo friendly!
Oven Baked Apple Pancake
This recipe from Seasoned Sprinkles sounds absolutely delicious. Brown-sugared apples baked in with a creamy batter and baked to perfection – throw it in when you wake up and it’ll be ready in just 45 minutes! Make the morning even easier by cutting the apples the night before (just preserve in a little lemon-lime soda to keep from browning too much).
Blackberry Baked Oatmeal
For clean eats, I love following what Veronika over at The Healthful Ideas is making. Her blackberry baked oatmeal looks easy, delicious and diet-friendly (this recipe is a single serve, so for a crowd just multiply accordingly). Plus I’m totally jealous of her stunning photography!
DIY Waffle Bar
Everyone loves waffles! Make the waffle mix in a pitcher in the morning and set it by the waffle iron (honestly I’d just use a box mix, but you can find a great homemade recipe here). Place all the fixings nearby – fresh berries, chocolate chips, whip cream, syrup, and butter.
Cinnamon Roll French Toast Bake
If you haven’t had this one yet, you are definitely missing out! It’s basically a french toast base (egg, milk, vanilla) poured over cut up refrigerated cinnamon roll dough. Top with maple syrup before baking and finish with the cinnamon roll frosting. It’s really easy and great to make the night before (I use a foil pan – no mess), and it bakes up perfectly the next morning. It beats every other french toast bake recipe I’ve tried! Watch the quick Tasty video and get the recipe here.
DIY Yogurt Parfait Bar
If you’re having an early Christmas dinner and would like to keep breakfast on the lighter side, a yogurt parfait bar is another great self-serve option. Provide a couple tubs of plain and vanilla yogurt, fresh fruit, granola, chocolate chips, and crushed cookies for toppings. Wide-mouth mason jars like these make great parfait holders!
Crescent Roll Cheese Danish Squares
These cheese danish squares from Ava’s Alphabet look absolutely delicious. The best part – the dough is store bought crescent rolls! Well actually… the best part might be the sweet cream cheese filling. Either way – I can’t wait to try these out!
